Love_and #9 - Embrace
I have had this image in my head for over twenty years, I drew it in the past in a different way. This is the first time i revisit it, to make it a complete painting. I love the way the two women are in the middle, emanating their presence, and yet cut off from everyone else, in that embrace. They are only at this moment present for each other.
The colors I used are meant to be a sort of heat-map, where the warmest is where the two bodies touch. The rest of the painting is a net that connects them to the rest of the world, yet isolating them and highlighting them in their moment.
I have not used exactly this way of painting the bodies before, although I already explored the idea of heat-map in a previous work. The chess pattern is coming back more and more often, in a need to express the energy surrounding the subject.
